Our skilled team was brought in to design and build the next iteration of a much-loved deck and pool area. After years of use, the retaining walls at the base of the steep hill had begun to wear out, and the finishes and competing geometries on the deck gave a dated appearance. Maxalea’s renovation of the expansive outdoor space now offers the homeowner:

Elegance & Ease

The redesigned deck offers an elegant and pleasing journey from the home to the pool. Multiple destinations along the way – sitting areas, a hot tub, and grill terrace – invite the homeowners and their guests to pause and enjoy natural views as the landscape changes from season to season.

Carefully curated plantings and building materials offer just the right balance of color and cohesion, while custom railings provide safety and preserve a feeling of openness.

Grill Terrace

A special addition, the grill terrace is custom built to accommodate the homeowner’s freestanding grill. The terrace includes integrated lighting, electric receptacles, and a refuse drawer, to make outdoor grilling a breeze.

Poolside Lounge

A private poolside enclave welcomes the homeowners and their guests. Relocating the the pool mechanicals and storage reduced noise and visual clutter, and freed up valuable space alongside the pool. Natural stone and colorful plantings make for a serene space, while the carefully selected boulders help retain the steep grade and compliment the surrounding design.

Form Color

This dry-stacked stone retaining wall is a sturdy and pleasing upgrade. Careful attention to color selection brings a high level of cohesiveness throughout the hardscaped areas, in harmony with the home.

Plantings along the wall provide a tapestry of colors and textures that evolve throughout the seasons, while maintaining visibility from the home and upper deck spaces to the pool.
